Greetings cadres,

I am greatly perturbed by the lack of managers in some governmental
departments such as the department of health, social development and
home affairs. We must however bear in mind that these are very large
and important departments.

The workers have no voice as the managers intimidate them. There are
no lines of communication as each individual is doing their own thing
at their own time. We will however keep having people committing
suicide and people burning government property if these issues
persist.

I suggest that government hire people who can deliver from policy
making and also in the implementation of those particular policies
within these departments. I was at ngwelezana hospital in the KZN
province and whilst i was sitting there, an old lady in a wheelchair
came in assisted by two gentlemen. This lady required an X-Ray but she
was told that the machine could not work because it was offline. When
i stepped in and asked as to whether the lady could wait because she
had travelled more that 150km to the hospital, they said no as the
technicians will only be coming to fix the problem the following week!
I then asked to see the hospital manager but i was told that she was
attending a workshop for the whole week and she will only be available
the following week!

Issues of this nature must be addressed and if found that there is
lack of management skills amongst these deadwood of managers then they
must be fired and replaced with competent individuals who will be
entrusted with peoples lives as we are not dealing with animals here!

I will not comment about home affairs and its evil sister department
social development! they are as good as dead when it comes to service
delivery!

away with deadwood away! amandla!
