*The YCLSA wishes to congratulate Presidency on the launch of the new
hotline*

*14 September 2009*

The Young communist league of South Africa wishes to congratulate the
President on his official launch of the new”17737” hotline. The YCLSA
believes that this is a progressive step towards curbing redtape in service
delivery and fighting corruption.

The hotline is also an affirmation of the government’s willingness to be
accessible to every South African citizen. It also curbs the notion that
officials and the particularly the president is not accessible

The YCLSA would like to urge South Africans to use this hotline
constructively and see it as a tool to address issues that continue to
hinder with service delivery in communities. The YCLSA wishes the team that
will be handling the queries all the best as a heavy task lies ahead for
them

The YCLSA further encourages government to find innovative ways to deal with
problems that continue to burden the working class and the poor in accessing
government departments. We will be monitoring progress made by the Hotline
and make necessary recommendations to ensure that it improves.
