Cde Bazuka, We are not saying calling Jeremy a White Messiah was fine at the same time reducing us to those who are after Bling was out of line. Assuming that ANCYL members are all about wishing to be Gangsters, which is what we find it very naive for you to want to deal with one side of the coin without looking at the other side. We have said before here that even Cronin himself accepted the mistake he did by thrashing the ANCYL paper without reading it which he apologise and it cannot be correct for you to assume that his view which he said then were CC views, which on records were not.
However, we cannot Bongani (aka Bazuka) only wait for the ground to be fertile for us to advance our interest and that of the class we seek to empower. It will be wrong for our generation to then says after a careful study by those who in the leadership to postpone the presentation of their views because the world outlook is so dark. In a capitalist world there will never be fertile time to launch your working class struggle unless when Capitalism is at its weakest point. You know and you can revisit literature that Capitalism as the ability to change forms and modalities to adopt to new tendencies. A typical example is what Capitalism will advance as Green Revolution just changing on form of exploitation with another without changing the ownership. I think me and you know what was going on during the current Eskom Price hike public consultation by NERSA and all those Environmental and sponsors of renewable and even our own party has join the wagon to support capitalism and that's the real danger to our revolution which any Kotanist should stand up and confront. We are aware of the fact that the discussion has been there in the SACP of Kotane, Slovo and Hani and during the Re-Launch of the YCL in Vaal we were more determined to see the fruit of classless society hence our vision in Socialism in our lifetime and not in future. This show the impatient we have with the continued expansion of Capitalistic Modes of Production which do not share the same destiny with us and the working class in general. We are aware that Sedibeng or the Vaal District has been central to sponsor the paper on Nationalisation of Mittal (Iskor), Sasol, Banks and other key role players in our economy. We do not seek to be best brains behind the concept. Ours is very clear here take the bull by its horn take it to the kraal. What the Party is doing now is resemblance of what the ANC pre-1944 will do and the ANCYL was born and radicalise it. We do not a Party that kneel to the Commanding Height of the Economy. Hence if you feel like there is a working class flavour missing in the paper bring it upfront and do not treat us with suspicions because we brought the debate in the middle of economic down turn. maybe the question to communist like you is who cause the down turn and who is worst affected by the impact? The answer to this question will give you clarity on the rush to conclude this debate. Why worry about timing to raise the debate, because by the time it becomes a Policy of the ANC the economy might have fully recovered and as such we will be going for functional entities. The process of policy formulation in the ANC start from where the ANCYL started, through NGC to National Conference for it to become a policy of the Liberation Movement. It means we are looking at it being a Policy of Government sometimes in 2014. I hope and believe you are not telling us that our masses are not ready to embrace the concept, which then point fingers at us (Kotanist) as to how far are we in ensuring the Hegemony of the Working Class is felt across society? The Communist Party of Kotane has never being driven by mutual sharing of views, its about given mandate to respond within the class context of what the party( which I'm a member) would like to engage. The Party has never being reduce to deal with Gossip and we should desist any attempt to make it that way. The party deal with the ideological context of particular programme and give it a class context. It only after a careful consideration that a party position will be made public not rushed as if we are in competition. Its like we want to be on the headlines as oppose to influence what goes to the headlines. Like I said this fear which I'm observing from communist is new, and why treat other communist who are serving in other sphere with suspicions. Hence Cde Ngoako is correct to say some ANC members do not want to be Party members and could not feel comfortable while Party members feel comfortable on both side. Lets engage. >>> bongani makhubu <[email protected]> 2010/02/09 01:30 PM >>> Sure Comrade Tom I highly value your insightful inputs on any other political matter that is of national interest, the same regard goes to Comrade Jeremy Cronin who’s forever polemically spicing debates that always seek to elicit comprehensive understanding on matters of importance. I understand the viewpoint where Unathi is advancing her fears, lot of character deforming insinuations and insults around nationalization debate has been rave in recent months particularly by members of the ANCYL which I am a member. The labelling of comrade Jerry as a “*white* *political messiah and a fake left force*,” left a lot to be desire in a party that commands pride in building amongst others a non raciest society as enshrine in the NDR, sometimes I ask myself that what was the real issue there, was it the fact that Jeremy is a* “messiah* or a *white messiah”?*. But however, let’s visit the debate itself (Nationalization) I must underline thought that the SACP supported by YCL has long called for Nationalization not only of Mines (mineral wealth beneath the soil) but Banks and Monopoly industries, it’s nothing new in the Party. Comrade Jeremy raises a legitimate argument that for some reason comrade find it difficult to comprehend, Jeremy Cronin agrees with a lot of issues the ANCYL document is alluding. The point where the two views clash is on “*whose class interest*” is nationalization seeks to benefit, particularly in the recent economic down spiral. The timing of the call was made last year during the height of the recession. I think you are aware as well as I do that nationalization is not inherently progressive because apartheid, authoritarian and other tyrannical regimes have nationalised their resources but for a narrow public ownership (theory) in pursuit of monopoly capital and in our own case our government was funding apartheid militia to wipe out Umkhonto weSizwe and any activity looking to compliment the revolutionary struggle. The position unpacked by Jeremy Cronin is mutually shared by the CC of the Party, that nationalisation should be a step towards socialisation of resources, the greater democratic and social control of the commanding heights of the economy to benefit the poor and the working class, not a capitalist bail out of the sector of mining in trouble of liquidation. We welcome the nationalization document by ANCYL and as communist and members of youth league we must fully participate in every forum to engage it and add necessary content. We must focus on matters like: *Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act* *Expropriation visa via Compensation* *And of-course the Class Contextualization* I submit Bongani (Bazuka) Makhubu -- You are subscribed.
