Our heroes who lost their lives in the struggle have demonstrated this, here is our living freedom that we are all enjoying. All the other years, we who were oppressed at the time and segregated in everyway possible, did not waste our energy trying to understand nationalist characters like Terre'blenche which should be the case even at tihis time. Let us not exalt Terre'blanche and his dearth to the level he does not deserve. Let us view this as a non-issue which is exactly the same way he would view it, had it been one of us. We should instead be remembering our heros such as Comrade Hani who lost his life round about this time in 1993. Let us not support some propaganda ladden media of this country who will jump at every opportunity to create and magnify tensions in the country. This we should achieve by encouraging our leaders to adopt a stance such as the one displayed by President JZ which is neutrality, calmenss and willingness to move on despite the occurance. We should be scrupulous not have our bridges bombed by the likes of Terre'blanche, the Boremag. This could disturb our impending world cup tournament by scaring our visitors. We condemn this killing in the strongest terms, because no person deserves to be killed regardless of the reasons that could be advanced in justification of the murder. The ANC views this as a matter to be handled by our law enforcement authorities. We call on all South Africans and all political parties not to use Eugene Terre' blanche's death to polarize our nation. We make this call to all South Africans to refrain from making speculative pronouncements on Terre' blanche murder as the perpetrators , who are alleged to be workers at his farm, have handed themselves to the law enforcement authorities, and our police are currently busy investigating the murder. The ANC believes that no amount of reason could justify the killing of Terre' blanche or anybody. South Africa has a progressive constitution that deals with various issues, including the protection of the labour force from its employers. All of us, as citizens of South Africa must uphold the basic human rights as enshrined in our Constitution as a fundamental pillar of our democracy. We appeal for calmness and non-provocation at this time because the police are hard at work in dealing with this matter.
