Press Release: 20th August 2010*

*COSATU aggrieved by government threats*

Cosatu Moses Kotane Local is aggrieved by threats meted out to striking government employees by different fat-cats called Ministers like Angie Motshega and Richard Baloyi and their confused spokespersons like Dumisani Nkwamba and Themba Maseko who have even forgotten that they are also mere employees as the drunk Maseko is calling us "his" employees.

Cosatu Moses Kotane Local further wants to remind them and their "Bosses" that for them to threaten striking workers with their forces will not deter the working class force from its endeavors and fight for what they rightfully deserve.

Maybe their lavish lifestyles has led to them forgetting that we, the working class put them were they are through sweating blood and losing lives.

They turn to forget that our struggle is informed by the sjamboks, teargasses and bullets by the apartheid forces.

They more so turn to forget that the poor and the working class they are insulting by labeling them "anarchists" as Baloyi labeled us are the ones who were their door-mats into parliament.

Cosatu Moses Kotane Local hereby humbly and politely request they must remember all this when it's time for elections.

They must also turn to their so much trusted and sheepish force to drag us to the streets to campaign for them as they are all lazy and spoilt fat-cats.

They must also remind us as the working class that Cosatu and the SACP cannot tell them how to run their government as they are used to telling us.

They must also turn-down tons of funds forwarded to them by us as the working class in this country.

Cosatu Moses Kotane also wishes to remind them that the forces they are actually referring to are the working class and the poor therefore they are of our ranks.

Cosatu Moses Kotane Local is not and will never be apologetic in fighting for the rights of its members and the poor in this country.

As the workers in this local we are prepared for any action that is to be taken by these capitalists and bourgeoisies even if it means losing our own lives.

We as the workers need no protection, friendship and favors from the so-called Ministers as we are indeed protected by the spirits of our fallen martyrs being the likes of John Gomomo, Elijah Barayi, Moses Kotane, Chris Hani and Joe Slovo who must be turning in their respective graves because of the way their dreams of better lives for all has been turned into better lives for the chosen capitalists, bourgeoisies and tenderpreneurs.

Cosatu Moses Kotane Local wishes to also send a warning to the government and its rubber stamps, pawns and puppets called directors, and managers who intend "dealing" with our members that they dare touch one worker they touch all the more than two million Cosatu members and that Cosatu will not by any chance hesitate to deal with them.

They must clearly know that when we come back, they must use backdoors to get out as we will fire/dismiss them as the working class force.
