SUBJECT : NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKEIN TERMS OF SECTION 64(1) (d) OF THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT. NO 96 OF 1995
1. Notice is hereby given in terms of the above mentioned section of the intention to embark on a strike. Such notice shall be for the prescribed seven (7) days as per the above section. 2. Only members who do not provide essential services, employed in terms of the Public Service Act shall be drawn to embark in the strike action due to the deadlock on wage negotiations which remain unresolved after conciliation, to which effect the commissioner issued a certificate on the 9th of June 2010. 3. Our intended strike will commence on the 26th of August 2010 4. Cde Norman i fully do support your statement police can never be used as a way to muscle the workers on their peacefull legally protected strike i agree, and i futher request the workers to never stop their peacefull ways in this regard violence by police can never be agreed to and the same goes to workers but my analysis is that nearly all workers have been peacefull its just a few eleements here and there cdes which the union leaders need to monitor and strongly condemn. but also cde Norman can u pls ensure that the same communication is filtered down to ure memebers maybe in the form of a memo not just in this forum my leader? if u can please cde release a sort of memo to all ure members that your members should reject this uncalled for police brutality that we see. thank you cde-- You are subscribed.
