POPCRU Message of Condolences to the Rantsolase Family POPCRU is saddened by the untimely passing on of the Former COSATU National Treasurer, SACP Member and ANC Member of Parliament; Cde Alina Rantsolase. We were struck by the news of her hospitalization and suddenly her passing on.
We recall how Cde Alina in the true spirit of our principles of Trade Unionism ,rose from the shop floor under SACCAWU and became the National Treasurer of COSATU as early as 1999.And became part of the Collective Leadership that ensured that COSATU registered a growing membership that we are all proud of. She is passing on when our young mothers and elders are under attack at pay points by thugs, who are making an attempt to undermine a Constitutional Provision as outlined in the Bill of Rights that says “Everyone has a right to life”, and we are content that her deployment to Parliament was amongst others, to achieve a safe and secure country, inwhich all persons live in harmony with each other. POPCRU adjure all our members as employed by SAPS,DCS and Traffic Departments across the Provinces, to really ensure that what Cde Alina stood for is ushered to our people through a quality public service characterized by values of integrity, honesty and respect for our masses. We have indeed lost a Mother, a Working Class Leader, a Worker, and a Revolutionary. Our condolence goes to the Family, ANC, COSATU and SACP because Cde Alina understood that “No Worker is a good member of the Congress unless he is a good Trade Unionist. No Comrade is a good Trade Unionist unless he is also a member of the Congress”. May her soul rest in peace.
