Comrades,

It's hard nowadays to understand what had happen to those valuable and
scholarly inputs used to be posted on this forum, including the culture of
robust and constructive engagement. It appears that a new tendency of
trading insults, personal malevolence and provocation bordering on
controversialism has replaced genuine deliberations, in conflict with our
political discourse. Or, it's a generation issue?

I fully endorse a view of cadres who emphasise the need to create a space for
healthy debates and agree to disagree, as there is nothing wrong with
expressing a different view as long as the manner in which it's expressed does
not feed into conspiracy theories or conservative liberal thinking.

For instance, it's rogue for a comrade to argue with great vigour that "i hate
politicians who ague principles as and when the suit them" when the
statement is not only misleading and superfluous but serves no useful purpose
to the discussion or the conference. Those comrades need to follow rules of
engagement to handle a difference of opinion without resorting to point-scoring
lies to champion a particular agenda.

Cde VC is quite right in that we start to moderating ourselves along those
considerations, a difference of opinion is necessary as it does not only
sharpen the debate but create comprehension to stimulate the discussion.

I mean, everyone knows that cde VC has an obligation to moderate
this forum however he adopted a different approach in good faith that cadres
would moderate themselves when robustly engaged on issues of national economic
and political imperative, "even when there's evidence of sharp contradictions".

Maybe cde Gugu has a valid argument in saying some comrades "seem to have
distorted connotations about the discussion forum itself." The rot seems to
have entreched itself in a negative or aggressive manner in our movement whilst
the forum is deeply infiltrated by anti-communist tendencies.

I therefore challenge delegates to the upcoming YCL conference to note the
importance of political education to enable new and old cadres to sharpen their
reasoning when confronted with such neo-liberal tendencies from within and
every centre of society.

To this end, let's agree to disagree and not waste time on arguments that have
no purpose - it's just a difference of opinion not a difference in ideology.
And this can be achieved when we're discipline at all times.

Accordingly, I would like to wish YCL a successful conference and commend
outgoing leadership in their collective ability to lead the organisation at
this critical time of provocative aggression against Communism.

We, communists, shall prevail in the pursuit of the goals of our national
democratic revolution together with our Alliance partners in the interests of a
victorious struggle of the people. Aluta Continua!

Remain,
Morgan Phaahla

maybe you should start by being disciplined and lead by example. You seem to
have distorted connotations about the discussion forum itself. No one is
intolerant of any views in the forum ,however if people want to sensationalize
conspiracy theories on this platform ,maybe its advisable that they find other
forums else where, which thrive on such behavior.

This discussion forum has continuously afforded a platfrom to comrades and
friends  to robustly engage, intellectually even when there's evidence of sharp
contradictions. Lets not reduce the forum to a venom spitting
"virtual-shebeen". There are a number of issues we can engage on even that of
the YCL Congress and the YCL in its entirety for that matter. I do not recall
Domza prohibiting anyone who has discerning views to engage on this forum

Well it is Domza's group and we must be careful what we write and express or
one can find himself more moderated than others just for honestly expressing
his view...

However I do agree that the benchmarking of terms in revolutionary organization
like the YCL and the SACP is not a matter of principles, and agree further that
Cde Skizo lost it when quoting cde Manamela.

But I would also just edge that comrades let us debate the matter and other
serious organizational matters in the congress with out these tensions and
un-informed skepticism.

Lastly we know how comrade Domza has blogged many comrades who seem to hold
different views from those of him, so I would edge comrades to be careful when
addressing issues in the YCL Domza moderated forum... "Revolutionaries should

Some are more moderated than others.

Especially Skizo.

When you use quote marks you must be careful. Using quote marks around
something that a person didn't say amounts to blatant lying.

It is not the case that everybody bans a third term. It is not the case in the
SACP or in COSATU or in the ANC. It is not the case in the British parliament
and it is not the case in Cuba.

The compulsory two-term limit is a US idea and is really an Imperialist idea
for the reason that they are trying to get us to conform with their ways.

There are many bad effects of the two-term limit. One of them is that there is
no end to the competition for the Presidency - it goes on all the time because
people are already positioning themselves for the race ten, fifteen or even
twenty years ahead of time, let alone five years ahead.

There is nothing of "principle" in a two-term limit. It is an arbitrary
blockage, and not a principle.

So Skizo, your message is really a piece of rudeness and malice of the kind
that is not wanted here.

You are on the moderation list.

No more, please.
