Afrikan History Month, which is celebrated in February, is an opportunity to re-connect with Our-Story; the incredible history of a wounded continent and its’ people. History is essential because it reminds us of who we were and inspires us to set goals for who we want to become. This year there will be seminars focusing on Afrikan history, science and spirituality. The theme for the seminars is LIVING OUR HISTORY. Once we know and internalise our history, it will give us clues and ideas to contemporary challenges and future solutions. By making history an integral part of our living culture, we infuse life into our legacies, strength into our spirit and build a foundation for us to stand on. “History is the landmark by which we are directed into the true course of life” (Marcus Mosiah Garvey).
