POPCRU welcomes the arrest of bogus doctors

POPCRU has noted the progressive steps taken by the Hawks to make leads to
track
bogus doctors operating in Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and
Western Cape.

These outrageous activities undermines the confidence of our government to make
significant overhaul of our health system and also  brings a dim view many
citizens on the majority of workers, who on a daily basis are committed to make
the implementation of the five government priorities a reality.

We also welcome Inter-Departmental cooperation between Home Affairs, South
African Police Services and Health Department on investigation undertaken on
this particular case, to uproot fraud, corruption and falsifying of
qualifications.

The arrest confirms what the Minister of Police said that “SAPS has
demonstrated
not in words but seeable actions that we hate corruption”, and we adjure all
workers in this country to recommit themselves with to a public service
cadreship with sound foundations on honesty, integrity and respect for quality
service to our communities.
