The Region has met all the constitutional requirements as outlined in the Conference Guidelines adopted by the Provincial General Council of June 2011. **** ** ** The Conference will take place at St George’s Hotel in Irene, Tshwane. The conference will be attended by 82 Branches that have been able to convene successful Branch General Meetings in order to elect duly nominated delegates. These branches met in the delegates Regional General Council on Saturday and agreed that they are ready for Conference!**** ** ** We condemn the reckless statement and delinquent conduct by the ANC Youth League in Tshwane which falsely claim that the ANC Regional Conference is not going ahead. The ANCYL has no authority to decide on whether an ANC Conference can proceed or not. Equally, the Youth League also has no authority to dissolve any structure of the ANC.
