*CWU ON APPOINTMENT OF THE SABC GCEO AND DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON OF THE SABC BOARD*
* * * * *17 January 2012* The Communication Workers Union (CWU) welcomes the appointment of the new South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Ms Lulama Mokhobo and Mr Thami ka Plaatjie as a Deputy Chairperson of the SABC Board. We hope that these appointments will bring stability at the Public Broadcaster and that they will boost staff morale. As CWU, we have been consistent in calling for the full-time appointment of the Group CEO and the filling of vacant positions in the board of the SABC. We also hope that these skilful individuals will add value in the discharge of the mandate of our public broadcaster and we wish them well in their respective positions. Lastly, we want to thank Mr Phil Molefe for sailing the ship in the few months that he has been an acting GCEO. * * *Contact* * * * * *Matankana Mothapo, National Spokesperson - 0827590900* -- You are subscribed.
