*ANC YOUTH LEAGUE STATEMENT ON THE MISCONDUCT OF MDU MANANA AND MISREPRESENTATION OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OUTCOMES:* 17 April 2012 This statement serves to confirm that the statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary General of the ANCYL CDE Sindiso Magaqa is a true reflection of the outcome of the Special National Executive Committee of the ANC Youth League, which happened on Sunday, the 15th of April 2012 in Johannesburg. The ANC Youth League NEC resolved that we did not receive an official communication from the ANC with regard to the temporary suspension of the ANCYL President and we do not have grounds as a structure of the ANC to ground him from performing his duties. We therefore resolved that he should continue to perform his responsibilities in the ANCYL as the President of the ANCYL as we are not aware of anything that bars him from doing so. The Special NEC reaffirmed earlier decisions with regard to the disciplinary process of the ANC against the President of the ANCYL that he will remain the President of the ANCYL until 2014. The meeting further stated that we must further request a meeting with the ANC for us to find an amicable political solution on the Disciplinary process and the political relationship with the ANC. The meeting did not review earlier decisions of the NEC. Therefore the statement by Mdu Manana a member of the NEC of the ANCYL is a distortion of the outcomes of the NEC and does not represent the official position of the ANCYL. Cde Mdu Manana should have internal raised his concerns with the Secretary General of the ANCYL if he had concerns for him to be properly clarified as we have done above.
