YCLSA Press Statement

05 September 2012

YCLSA on the conviction and postponement of sentencing of Comrade Amos Mbedzi
by demonic Swazi despot

The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] issues this statement
full of contempt for the Swazi despot and his monarch and its continued
oppression of the people of Swaziland. This regime has stooped to the levels
worse than the demonic apartheid South Africa without any ounce of respect for
law even the ones it makes. The King has been directly involved in the case
against Comrade Amos Mbedzi a former YCLSA, ANC, SACP, SSN and MK member
serving as a direct exploiter, judiciary and security chief in the violation of
rights and against all protocols be they local and international.

The inconsistencies within the arrest, prosecution and conviction of Comrade
Mbedzi demands that the people of South Africa and the world unite in their
condemnation of the despot Tinkundla system.

We further support the call by the Limpopo province of the South African
Communist Party on SADC and the AU to immediately suspend Swaziland‘s
membership in their respective organisations and the South African government
to send the High Commissioner of Swaziland home.

We further call on the progressive organisations and the people of South Africa
to join in solidarity campaigns to support the struggles waged by the people of
Swaziland against the oppressive feudal and undemocratic Tinkundla system and
the monarch.
As the YCLSA we support the following demands:
• The immediate release of all political prisoners in Swaziland
• The unbanning of political parties in Swaziland
• The abolition of the undemocratic, feudal and fascist “Tinkundla System of
Governance” where only wives, girlfriends, concubines, relatives and friends of
the King are allowed to occupy key positions in government
• The creation of constitutional multi-party democracy in Swaziland

The people of South Africa and Swaziland share much more than land, they have
relations and have shared struggles for freedoms together, let us continue
fighting together against all forms of oppression and be intolerant of the
situation in Swaziland.
We also agree with our Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] when it says: “We
denounce the trumped up charges especially the laughable and ludicrous one on
murder of his friends and comrades for which shamefully the Judge found him
guilty, making the Swazi law a joke.”
