YCLSA Gauteng Press Statement

YCL STATEMENT ON RACIST AFRIFORUM's BID TO REVERSE DE-COLONIZATION

The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] in the province of
Gauteng is disgusted by Afri-Forum's continued counter-revolutionary and racist
challenge to our government.

Afri-Forum is concerned about nothing but seeks to preserve the legacy and
memory of apartheid colonialism as a form of sustaining national oppression.
This racist organisation's court bid in North Gauteng High Court to reverse the
name changes of streets in Tshwane seeks to perpetuate colonialism of special
type in which Africans in particular and black people in general are oppressed
economically, politically, cultural, pshycological and so on.

As the YCLSA we are closely monitoring how the racist court bid by Afri-Forum
will fair. We will canvass progressive and revolutionary formations, if need
be, to embark on mass action in order to confront racist organisations such as
the Afri-Forum.

There's no way we will allow democratically elected local governmant to be
dictated to by racist organisations such as the Afri-Forum with democratic
institutions in the form of councils and government marginalized.

As the YCLSA we support de-colonisation including restoration of geographical
names that were marginalised by apartheid with the support of racist
organistions such as Afri-Forum. We support changes to street names in Tshwane
and want this to go as far as eliminating all the names that were adopted by
the apartheid regime that never bordered to consult with the majority of our
people who were oppressed, dominated and exploited.

As the YCLSA we also want the name Pretoria to be changed and the name Tshwane
to be restorned. We shall continue to support efforts in this regard.
