*YCLSA call for a boycott of South African artists who played at the MTN Bushfire Festival* The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] condemns greediness of some South African artists who chose material reward by playing at the MTN Bushfire Festival at the weekend over standing in solidarity with the oppressed people of Swaziland. The YCLSA is in complete support the ongoing cultural boycott on Swaziland led by the Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] and the Creative Workers Union of South Africa [CWUSA]. Some of the artists that require our urgent attentions for isolation are: · Toya Delazy · DJ Euphonik · The Muffinz · Shangaan Electro · Catch the rain · Jeremy Loops · DJ mighty · Mix n Blend · The Soil We hereby call on all our structures including members of the Mass Democratic Movement [MDM], the Progressive Youth Alliance [PYA], and all other organisations that are friendly to the YCL not to support their music. We as South Africans know precisely the relevance of this boycott because of the key role played by international solidarity in bringing down the system that was declared a crime against humanity in the form of apartheid. We wish to endorse the call by the SACP, NUM, COSATU, CWUSA, SSN, NUMSA and many other progressive organisations to boycott all artists who have shown indifference to the call to isolate Swaziland.
