Comrades,

In the Comrade Delta affair, one of the SWP's justifications for
investigating the matter internally was that the police and courts have a
notoriously poor record of prosecuting rape. That of course begs the
question that if the proper legal authorities find rape a difficult crime
to prosecute, how can a small party like the SWP do any better? As it
turned out, the SWP's disciplinary committee was just as prejudicial as any
court of law, with one member questioning the alleged victim about her
drinking habits.

The other justification given was that the bourgeois courts would use the
case as an opportunity to destroy the SWP. Arguably the party's response
has caused more damage.
