24 August 2013 SACTWU welcomes Minister Rob Davies' directive No more empowerment funding for importers of finished goods The COSATU-affiliated Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers' Union (SACTWU) welcomes Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies' ministerial directive to ban empowerment funding from being allocated to entities which imports finished goods. It is this kind of governmental decisiveness our country requires, if we are to work together to successfully combat our triple crises of poverty, inequality and unemployment. It will help with our national quest to prevent domestic de-industrialisation. We call on all other Ministers to institute similar revolutionary initiatives in their areas of responsibility.
