ANC Women's League, 28 August 2013 Indefinite Closure of Walter Sisulu University The African National Congress Women's League is deeply concerned over the reported forced closure of Walter Sisulu University today arising from labour unrest. The quest for the attainment of socio-economic freedom for all our people demands that all South Africans commit themselves to stabilising education and protecting it from disruptions, particularly at this time of the year. Education remains the cornerstone upon which South Africa will realise its aspirations for a better life for all, the right to which all South Africans must jealously guard and promote. The ANC Women's League calls for a speedy resolution of the impasse at the Walter Sisulu University. In the interest of our young people, who are the future of our country, the ANC Women's League calls upon the management and staff of the institution to seek a common solution to end the more than five week strike at the institution. Our collective responsibility as a country is to the development of our youth and the development of our human capital.
