Memorial Lecture of Cde. Alpheus Malivha
The South African Communist Party (SACP) Alpheus Malivha District jointly with
SACP Greater Tshwane district will hold a lecture in honour of one of the
greatest stalwarts of both the ANC and the SACP in the 30s, Cde. Alpheus
Malivha.
Cde Alpheus Malivha served those times with our revolutionary giants, among
others like: BERNSTEIN, Hilda (Hilda WATTS) (Mev.); BUNTING, Brian Percy
(Mnr.); DUTOIT, E.S (Betty) (Mej.); BOSHIELO, Flag; KOTANE Moses; SISULU
Walter; J.B MARKS; BOPAPE David; and he contributed majorly on the battle of
ideas as he regularly contributed articles for Party newspapers such as
Inkululeko on class struggle.
As part of our historical materialism the lecture will be delivered by Cde.
SAMSON RATSHIVHANDA NDOU, stalwart of both the ANC and the labour movement
(SACTU) from the 50s, the foundational president of the general and allied
workers union who witness his burial.
There will be a combination of both the visit and the lecture to the grave at
Doornkop cemetery where Alpheus Malivha is buried, and about his life
respectively, as follows:
· Date: 7 September 2013 (Saturday)
· Times, Venues:
o 07h00 - Doornkop Cemetery
o 10h00 - Pretoria Central Prison
· Lecturer: Cde. Samson Ratshivhanda Ndou
