*TOMORROW* Thursday 19 September 2013, Numsa’s Economic Research and Policy
Institute will be hosting a public seminar under the theme *“Brazil:
Economic Policy and Social Movements”: 1980-2013*. The seminar will be
addressed by renowned scholar Professor *ALFREDO SAAD-FILHO*, a Professor
of Political Economy at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS),
University of London, United Kingdom.



Professor Saad-Filho has done extensive scholarly work and research on the
following contemporary issues: political economy of development, industrial
policy, neoliberalism, democracy, alternative economic policies, Latin
American political and economic development, inflation and stabilization,
and the labour theory of value and its applications.



*KARL CLOETE*, Numsa Deputy General Secretary will be respondent. The
Seminar will be facilitated by *AZWELL BANDA*. Various opinion-makers,
academics, trade unionists and activists have been invited to participate.
