SACP Statement, 1 October 2013 Changes in the SACP Communication Department The South African Communist Party has embarked on a series of measures to restructure its national office with a sole intent to strengthen its operations. These changes are in line with the decisions of the SACP's last conference which also saw the reconfiguration of the Secretariat of the organisation. The changes include reorganising the communications infrastructure of the organisation. To this effect Cde Malesela Maleka will offload his duties as Head of Communications and SACP Spokesperson. Cde Alex Mashilo will take over the responsibilities as the new Spokesperson and Head of Communications with immediate effect. Comrade Maleka will be deployed in a different capacity to the overall growth and benefit of the organisation. An announcement will be made as soon as his new responsibilities have been finalised. Comrade Mashilo is an experienced SACP activist and brings to the responsibility vast experience from his previous employment. We wish him well in his new role as the public face of the SACP. Both comrades collectively and individually will continue to serve the organisation in their deployments in line with the decisions of the Central Committee of 23 - 25 August 2013. "On behalf of the 13th congress CC, I take this opportunity to express our appreciation for massively dedicated efforts and sterling contribution comrade Maleka made in the communications unit, illuminating the pioneering tasks of strategic engagement with the media but overall for the loyal service he continues to give the SACP and our revolution to end all forms of exploitation. We also wish him the best in the new responsibilities he will be assigned!", said Solly Mapaila, SACP 2nd Deputy General Secretary. Statement Issued by Cde Solly Mapaila - SACP 2nd Deputy General.
