*YCLSA Limpopo PEC Statement*

The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] Limpopo Province held
its 5th plenary session Provincial Executive Committee on the 06th October
2013 at the CDM office in Polokwane. This meeting coinciding with the
96thanniversary of the Red October Revolution of 1917 led by the
Bolsheviks.

It was the first Communist Revolution in the world in the 20th century to
be won by communist. The Provincial Committee also met a month after the 22
nd anniversary of South African Student Congress (SASCO) which symbolizes
the struggle waged by students against inequalities, redress, financial and
academic exclusion, and the transformation of the education system in South
Africa.

*On SRC Elections*
**

**The YCLSA applauds SASCO at Tshwane University of Technology and
University of Limpopo for undertaking its historical and revolutionary task
to lead the PYA in campus through the ballot. We further commend the ANCYL
PTT for disbanding its Branch at the University of Limpopo Turfloop Campus
for disregarding the mandate of the PYA summit and registered as
independent organisation.

This matter was also influenced by the University management and some group
of business people who claimed that SASCO, and YCLSA are not popular on
Campus where as they knew that their interest are with EFF not with the
ANCYL and the PYA.

As the YCLSA in Limpopo we call on the Minister of Higher Education Dr
Blade Nzimande to recall the Vice Chancellor of the University of Limpopo
Turfloop Campus Prof N.M. Mokgalong because he continues to victimise
students on possible exclusion and dismissal in the Campus if they contests
for SRC under the banner of SASCO.

We wish SASCO Univen all the best in their SRC elections on the
11thOctober 2013. The PYA will be contesting elections under the
banner of
SASCO consistent with the decision of the PYA summit. SASCO remains the
leader of the PYA in campus given its abundance of experience to lead the
students in different campuses.

*2014 General Elections*

We heed a clarion call to the youth of South Africa to defend the ANC on
the ballot box. The 2014 general elections remain very critical as the
people of South Africa re-affirm their confidence in the ANC led
government. The YCLSA will continue with its ideological training and
political education in pursuit of the National Democratic Revolution. The
National Committee will unveil the YCLSA election strategy as an integral
part of the other MDM formations.

Consistent with the National Council resolutions, resources should be
channelled towards the YCLSA and other PYA components as part of the
election strategy targeting first time voters in particular.

*On Malamulele*

We condemn the violence that is taking place in Malamulele as a way of
raising the demand for a Municipality in that area. As the YCLSA we are
very confident that the ANC/SACP provincial leadership and Premier will
engage the community and bring back stability in the area. This issue will
only be concluded in 2016 by the Demarcation Board in its Municipal
demarcation review process.

*On the international balance of forces*

The YCLSA Limpopo is notes the intended attack on Syria by the US and
allies. We also note that the USA has vested interest in the oil that Syria
has at its disposal and other natural resources.

On Zimbabwe, as the YCLSA in Limpopo we are the neighbouring province and a
border gate to other African states and we request that the sovereignty of
the Zimbabweans must be respected. We welcome the outcome of the democratic
elections of Robert Mugabe from ZANU PF as the President of Zimbabwe
because the people re-affirmed their confidence in him as their legitimate
leader and hope that he will make their lives better.

We condemn the outright rejection of the election outcomes in Zimbabwe by
Botswana as the only country in SADC that act against a declaration of free
and fair elections by the African Union and United Nations.
