*YCLSA Welcomes decision of the New Board to Fire Steven Ngubeni*

The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] salutes the bold
decision of the new National Youth Development Agency [NYDA] Board to act
tough against any form of corruption and maladministration in the NYDA.

As the YCLSA we were the first to call for a forensic audit into the World
Federation of Democratic Youth [WFDY] Festival of 2010 of which it was
reported that Seven Ngubeni had profited through a R22 million contracts
awarded to his uncle. The NYDA has always been at the mercy of Ngubeni's
wrongdoing and it is about time that bold leadership was executed in
dismissing Ngubeni.

We welcome the decision of the New Board to fire Steven Ngubeni and we
encourage the new leadership of the NYDA to clean up the Agency in the
interests of youth development. Ngubeni must answer to the charges of
financial misconduct levelled against him and not divert the public's
attention away from his misconduct. The NYDA can only get better after his
departure.
