COSATU Central Executive Committee

 

 

The Congress of South African Trade Unions will be holding a scheduled
meeting of its Central Executive Committee from 18-20 November 2013, at
COSATU House, Braamfontein, attended by the National Office Bearers, leaders
of affiliated unions and provincial structures. 

 

Among the many items to be discussed will be: 

.        COSATU unity and cohesion

.        Presidents and General Secretaries facilitated processes

.        Intervention by former trade unions leaders and ANC task team

.        Update on high court litigation

.        Update on call for COSATU Special National Congress

.        Kopano Ke Matla, registration of trustees, FSB report, new COSATU
building

 

Other items on the agenda include:

.        Update on the proposed COSATU commission in the mining sector

.        Report on implementation resolution on international affiliation

.        Update on the Alliance Summit outcomes

.        2014 General Elections and manifesto process

.        Collective Bargaining/wage settlements/strikes

 

The agenda may also deal with:

.        Court cases and impact on unions

.        Report of social economic commission 

.        Rolling mass action campaign

.        Section 77 economic demands and implementation plan

.        Support to affiliates

.        Progress on labour law amendments, e-tolling, tax incentives bill,
etc

 

As usual the media are invited to a press conference to hear a report of the
CEC meeting. The details are:
