4 February 2014 SACP Western Cape planned March postponed The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape has decided to postpone the planned march to the Premiers residence in Leeuwenhof on 07th February 2014. The Party will postpone the March until further notice. Our proposed march was in the main, to be a mass-based demonstration against the negligent provision of basic services by the Provincial and City Administration, lead by the Democratic Alliance. Additionally, our planned march was to be in defence of the reactionary protest action planned by the DA to Luthuli House in Johannesburg. The Party views this attempt as an election gimmick and an act of desperation. The Party will however be monitoring the faltering attempts of the DA to march on the ANC headquarters, should there be a second attempt by the DA at political suicide, the Party will again stand in defence of the ANC. As the SACP in the province, we urge all our members to join the ANC march on Wednesday 5 February 2014.
