Gauteng Legislature, 19 February 2014 Portfolio Committee on Education Surprise Oversight Visit at Tarlton The Portfolio Committee on Education at the Gauteng Legislature paid a surprise oversight visit at Tarlton today to assess the risky and deadly scholar transport there Tarlton near Krugersdorp is known for ferrying young school kids with transport that is not road worthy. Over the years this situation has gone unnoticed by authorities leaving scores of pupils fatally injured and some dead as a result of accidents caused by scholar transport that is not supposed to be on the road. Journalists were urged to join the portfolio committee at Tarlton near Krugersdorp this morning from 06h30 to 08h30.
