ANC Statement, 26 May 2014

Appointment of the ANC Spokesperson

The African National Congress has appointed Zizi Goodenough Kodwa as the new
National Spokesperson following the redeployment of Comrade Jackson Mthembu
to the National Assembly. Comrade Zizi Kodwa who had been sworn in as a
Member of Parliament resigned today so that he can assume his new
responsibility from today.

Comrade Zizi Kodwa brings with him valuable experience as a communicator who
rose in the ranks of the ANC from the ANCYL, where he was an NEC member and
spokesperson. He later joined President Zuma as a Communications Advisor. In
Mangaung he was elected to the NEC of the ANC and deployed to the ANC
Subcommittee of Communication. In the run up to elections, he was
successfully nominated to the ANC list and duly sworn in as a Member of
Parliament.

The ANC is confident that his acquired knowledge and application of
communication skills will assist the ANC in its engagement with its
stakeholders who are the public, the media and civil society.
