Eyewitness News 3.png NUMSA Convenes People's Assembly Emily Corke, Eyewitness News, Kempton Park, Johannesburg, 13 December 2014 NUMSA has convened a people's assembly today to address a coalition of workers unions and other organisations. It comes days after the union was slammed for hosting a failed united front launch. NUMSA president Andrew Chirwa says the launch of the united front will usher a new dawn of true democracy. UF 'Assembly'.jpg Chirwa is speaking at a people's assembly of gathered workers, unions and civic organisations. The weekend-long assembly will discuss the purpose of the movement and the challenges facing the working class. Chirwa stressed the united front was about the struggle for socialism and not about political affiliations. Among the delegation is former African National Congress Member of Parliament Ronnie Kasrils and various religious groups.
