South African Communist Party, 22 January 2015 March against Housing Evictions by Banks The SACP through Mass Organizations under the leadership of the Financial Sector Campaign Coalition will lead a march of communities from all the townships around Gauteng and Inner City dwellers, who are highly affected by the reckless and illegal evictions conducted by various banks in Gauteng Province. The march will be mainly directed to the Banking Association of SA and the Judiciary especially the Gauteng South High Court where many of the Eviction Court Orders are issued. We will also be asking the Gauteng Government to intervene through moratorium on all evictions and for a government enquiry to be held into the legality of evictions which are now at epidemic proportions. Venue: Beyers Naude Square, Johannesburg City Centre The march will be addressed by the 2nd Deputy General Secretary of the SACP Cde Solly Mapaila, who is also the National Chairperson of the FSCC.
