Ministry of Higher Education and Training, 12 March 2015 Government continues to improve access of poor students through NSFAS Government continues to make strides on improving access to higher education and training for the students coming from poor families through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). The NSFAS allocation has been steadily increasing each year and thereby increasing the number of students entering the Post-Education and Training (PSET) system. Additionally, the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and National Skills Fund (NSF) have made substantial contributions to NSFAS each year. A period from 2012 - 2014/15, National Student Fund Aid Scheme has made allocations that supported substantial numbers of students.
