YCLSA Press Statement, 15 March 2015 YCLSA saddened by the passing away of Cde Collins Chabane South Africa this morning wakes up a poor country as death has robbed us one of the sharpest minds in our government, in the congress movement and an intellectual par excellent. The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] has learned with shock the news of the passing away of Cde Collins Chabane. Cde Collins at the time of his passing away was the Minister of Service and Administration, member of the African National Congress [ANC] National Executive Committee [NEC] and a former combatant of our glorious liberation army Umkhonto Wesizwe. Cde Collins will be forever be etched in our memories for his unrelenting fight against the oppressive white minority rule of the apartheid government. YCLSA members will forever be inspired by his unassuming character and the high level of discipline he displayed at all material times. Cde Collins was an avid musician; he developed his love for music while in incarceration. While in jail he learned music theory and how to play the harmonica. Cde Collins recorded two CD's. We send our deepest condolences to his family, the movement at large and his Marimba band Movement.
