Statement on the Afrophobic attacks

We the Mkhonto We Sizwe Millitary Veterans Association in Greater
Johannesburg, condemn the senseless killings, uncalled-for attacks and acts
of violence against foreigners. We believe that this violence that is in
Johannesburg area and the country at large is being perpetrated by criminals
that set out to gain for themselves.

It is not our agenda as Mkhonto We Sizwe Military Veterans association to
find our country been hijacked by criminals who never even tried to attempt
to fight for this revolutionary struggle. We also condemn the twitter
messages or any social network that frightens and threaten our people.

We as Umkhonto We Sizwe Millitary Veterans Associations call upon our
structures on the ground to call general and public meetings and speak to
our people, to refrain from this violent, criminal act that is occurring
against the foreigners and remind our people about our own international
mobilisation. We also call upon South African Police Service to identify the
perpetrators with the aim to arrest them and neutralise the situation.

We further call on all government departments within the security cluster to
endorse all the legislation and laws that protect the security, immigration
and sovereignty of the Republic of South Africa.

We call upon all spheres of government to support the business people that
operate small, medium and large business. We are of the belief that where
legislation is weak, the government must expedite the process of developing
policies that will strengthen the weaknesses.

However as MKMVA, we are not encouraging criminality from other side of the
spectrum. We appeal therefore to the foreigners to respect the law of the
hosting country.

We appeal for calm from all within the Johannesburg area.

We are because you are....
