NUM Press Statement, 25 June 2015

NUM Welcomes the Release of the Final Report of the Marikana Commission of
Inquiry

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) welcomes the statement by President
Jacob Zuma on the key findings and recommendations contained in the final
report of the Marikana Commission of Inquiry.

The final report will no doubt contribute immensely to the closure that the
families who lost their loved ones in those tragic events in August 2012
have long sought, and the final chapter on those events can be closed and
the process of healing can commence.

The NUM will study the final report as soon as it becomes available and make
further public statements on its findings and recommendations as soon as
possible.
