SADTU wishes COSATU a successful Special National Congress

The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) would like to wish the
Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) a successful special
national congress that begins on Monday, 13 July 2015 at the Gallagher
Estate in Midrand. The congress, to be held under the theme "Building Unity
and Cohesion of COSATU to Advance the National Democratic Revolution" is
taking place at the time when the country is bombarded by the prophets of
doom predicting the demise of the Federation. We want to assure the working
class that COSATU remains steadfast in the midst of challenges that seek to
de-stabilize it.

We urge workers not to lose focus as populists, who are on a mission to
collapse the Federation, are trying their best to disturb our attention on
worker issues colluding with the liberal media. It is our duty to be
resilient in our joint approach to build a better COSATU.

The special national congress is convened in terms of the constitution and
no anarchy should be tolerated. The delegates attending the congress are
duty bound to respect the constitution and unite all workers. It is
obligatory therefore to all leaders and delegates collectively to prioritize
the unity and cohesion of the Federation in order to wage the struggle
against white monopoly capital.

Indeed, an attack on COSATU is an attack on all its affiliates. SADTU goes
to the congress not to attend an event but to receive instruction from the
command centre to stand together with all workers in defence of the labour
movement.

United we stand, divided we fall.
