Morning Star.png Opposition Party Threat to Overthrow ANC by Force The Morning Star, London, 23 April 2016 Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party leader Julius Malema vowed yesterday to "take up arms" against South Africa's ANC government if it continues to respond aggressively to peaceful protest. The self-styled EFF commander-in-chief was speaking in an al-Jazeera TV interview to be broadcast on Sunday. Mr Malema complained about his party's repeated exclusions from parliament for disrupting proceedings and claimed ownership of riotous "service delivery" protests in shanty towns that have seen public buildings torched. "They beat us up in parliament and they send soldiers to places like Alexandra where people are protesting," he said. "We will run out of patience very soon and we will remove this government through the barrel of a gun." Mr Malema also repeated his 2014 claim that general election results in Gauteng province, where most of his MPs were elected, were rigged. "But we still accepted it," he said.
