SABC.png SACP member murder rocks Durban SABC, Johannesburg, 1 June 2016 The situation is tense at Intshanga, west of Durban. That's after an South African Communist Party (SACP) member was gunned down on Tuesday night. The incident is believed to be linked to the on-going feud between the ANC and the SACP in the area. The Ngubo family is in a state of shock after 38-year-old Siyabonga was gunned down. He was on his way to see his fiancée when he was ambushed by unknown assailants. Sister Nonhlanhla Ngubo, says, "We are very sad about the killing because he was the one who looked after our mother, who is frail. He was not a person who liked wandering at night. He enjoyed hanging around with his siblings." Another SACP member, Magazini Shange, survived an earlier attack. He says, "We don’t feel safe in the streets." The SACP’s Nonsikelelo Blose says, "We have strong evidence because people who shot him were travelling in cars and they saw who they are and we want the police to arrest them." ANC eThekwini Regional Secretary, Bheki Ntuli, has called for calm. He has denied any involvement by ANC members. Police are investigating a case of murder.
