>From Keiser to Mapaila, and back

Max Keiser

Max Keiser interviews Tim Pool in the second half of "The Keiser Report",
episode 995 (link
<https://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/367494-episode-max-keiser-995/> ).

Especially look at where Tim Pool (at 18:05) starts talking about the Trump
rallies that he reported on, and at 25:00, where he talks about his "fellow
Millennials".

Tim Pool is saying that Hillary Clinton. The crook ran (incredibly!) on
"values", while Trump (the amateur politician) ran on politics, and this is
why Trump won.

Yes, Pool uses the word "culture" and Max Keiser picks that up, but really
it is not culture in the true sense of the word that they are talking about
- it is pseudo-moral values, or "memes", like no prejudice, et cetera, that
Clinton's supporters want to be identified with.

Solly Mapaila

A lot of people were sad when Nkosiphendule Kolisile died in a car crash,
including this writer. Nkosiphendule was a charming and friendly guy.

It is unfortunate that people, including the 2nd Deputy Secretary of the
SACP, now want to build a false myth on top of our simple grief. It is
embarrassing to those of us who prefer to remember the best, and to bury the
less good parts of somebody's life with their mortal remains.

Nkosiphendule Kolisile was not a very disciplined comrade. He was divisive
in his party District (Dr Yusuf Dadoo, West Rand). He pursued his ANC career
with his back to the SACP. He was subjected to disciplinary measures, but
was always magically rescued.

Let it be enough to say that the hero-isation of the late Cde Nkosiphendule
will not be accepted by most of those who knew him as a mortal human being,
who was no better than the rest of us.

Values

So then what is Cde Solly Mapaila trying to do with Cde Nkosiphendule's
memory, with his memorial lecture on 19 November 2016, reported by Baldwin
Ndaba in the Sunday Independent, today?

Let me quote from Baldwin Ndaba's report:

'Mapaila said he took a leaf from the pro-Democratic Party newspaper, which
was disparaging about the imminent election of Donald Trump. He said when it
became clear that Trump was going to win the election, the New York Times
wrote that the "office of the president represents the inner-soul of the
people".

'Trump has since won the election and is due to be inducted as president
soon, but Mapaila feels that South Africans need to ask themselves the same
question.

'"The people of South Africa, and our own members, should ask themselves
whether the president, the ANC and the SACP represent the inner-soul of the
people," Mapaila said.'

Back to Tim Pool and Max Keiser

What Cde Mapaila is directing us to do is to emulate the Clinton campaign,
and to present tacit, ineffable values, which he now calls - taking his
words from the Clinton-supporting newspaper The New York Times - "the
inner-soul of the people".

This is nonsense from the 2nd Deputy General Secretary of the SACP.

The SACP is a historical-materialist party. It is not supposed to be
directing people away from politics and towards mystical feelings of
one-ness, or more precisely, divisive two-ness, where the other one is the
devil.

It is shocking to read this stuff from the 2nd Deputy General Secretary of
the SACP.

It is all the more shocking when it is clear to all, and not only to Tim
Pool and Max Keiser, that this kind of feel-good, hate-bad substitute for
politics is a losing tactic, which ordinary people can see right through,
and no longer support.

The communist party is supposed to lead people towards a consciousness of
the material situation, and away from, frankly, the demagogy of identity
with an idealistic national "soul". The politics of the Clintons is
something to bury, and not for the 2nd Deputy General Secretary of the SACP
to try to raise from the dead.

Fanon and Cabral

Frantz Fanon said: "You must not voodoo the people."

Amilcar Cabral said: "The principal characteristic, common to every kind of
imperialist domination, is the negation of the historical process of the
dominated people by means of violently usurping the free operation of the
process of development of the productive forces."
