Libya Risks 'Becoming The Next Syria,' Warns China

The Chinese and Tunisian foreign ministers called for new efforts to restore
peace in Libya yesterday. China's Wang Yi said Libya was attracting
terrorists fleeing from Iraq and Syria, requiring intervention to prevent
the country becoming "a new source of international terrorism."

"We should prevent Libya from becoming the next Syria," Wang told reporters
in Beijing. Libya has been in a state of chaos and conflict since Muammar
Gadaffi was toppled by NATO-backed rebels in 2011. -

Rebel Infighting Breaks Out In Idlib

Unprecedented infighting between Syria's two largest opposition groups
erupted yesterday in Idlib province, killing at least three civilians and 11
militants. The fighting broke out between Hetesh and their former allies
Ahrar al-Sham.

Hetesh seized the town of al-Dana from its rivals, who in turn drove them
from the surrounding towns of Sarmada and Qalat al-Madiq. The two groups had
previously worked together to capture Idlib in 2015. It is one of the few
rebel-held areas left in Syria. -

Trump to end CIA support for anti-Assad forces in Syria - reports

The White House and CIA have reportedly decided to end a covert operation to
arm the so-called moderate Syrian rebels [i.e. terrorists]. The US has
allegedly pumped some $1 billion into train-and-equip efforts with
questionable outcomes. Authorised by President Barack Obama, the secret
weapons supply and training programme has been Washington's main tactic to
topple the Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The Reuters report notes that the US will continue to support select Syrian
rebel groups [terrorists] with airstrikes and guidance as part of a
"separate" effort. -

On Crapified News And Foreign Policy

Significant parts of the Trump administration, Congress and the general
Zionist borg would love to start a war between the U.S. and Iran. A war is
unlikely. Iran's geography and strategic position is unassailable. Its
global political standing has increased during the last decades. Any war
with Iran would be extremely costly yet unwinnable.

But with U.S. pressure again increasing on Iran it is important to learn and
understand what happens inside of country. Unfortunately most Western
reporting about politics in Iran is a mess. -
