I set up a typepad blog, actually. I figure it'll give good insight into using del.icio.us with a hosted blog service, anyway.

Incidently, It would seem there are plenty of anti-spam wordpress plugins.. I like wordpress because it's extremely easy to use and setup and it's also easy to customize.
Realistically though I don't think someone who is the developer of a very popular service with it's own domain (and I would suppose served on a good server) would actually let the blog of thier service be on anything but thier own space.. with it's own db etc, etc..

Oh, go the simple route and set up a Livejournal. Takes 5 minutes, someone else looks after it for you, has comments and RSS built in and deals with comment spam so well that I haven't seen any in months.
