For what it's worth (little to nothing), I'm with Tim. I've long wanted an (*optional*) alphabetical view. Everyone keeps talking about searching being better than this (which I think is sometimes true, sometimes not), but am I the only one that sometimes just *browses* my bookmarks? Sometimes I just browse, and when I do, I want to browse alphabetically.
That said, there IS a Greasemonkey user script [ http://www.tweaksthelimbs.org/greasemonkey/ ] that can give you alphabetical sorting - sort of. It is per-page only. (As it would have to be.) It adds one line of text to a del page like this: > sort by alpha | chron And you click on "alpha" to sort alphabetically (click on "chron" to go back to reverse chronological). For some reason, it never sorts correctly for me the first time (I have to click "alpha", which gets the order wrong, then "chron", then "alpha" again.) But the per-page thing is what keeps it from being a replacement for having the true functionality in del. What this means is that del pulls your most recent 10 bookmarks for a page (if you're viewing 10 per page). This script can sort *those 10* alphabetically, but it's still only the most recent 10 - it's not the first 10 bookmarks that start with "a". But in terms of the interface, this is how I would like to see it work in del, were it ever to be added. A little text link, in the vicinity of the "earlier/later" links, where I can click to re-sort. I would also love to be able to sort by POPULARITY! So: > sort by alpha | chron | pop Or what have you. So it's totally optional, on-demand. Maybe in the "settings" page, users could even choose to just get rid of it completely, to save that wee bit of screen space. Everyone wins.
