You can now try playing with this service without registering by using not only the default "demo" account but also preregistered del.icio.us user demo accounts that already have bookmarks imported as "liked". Simply log in as "delicioususername_demo" and leave the password blank. For example, you can log in as "amichail_demo". http://targetyournews.com/?cmd=login Feel free to log in as someone other than yourself. These are just demo accounts for experimentation. If you have been getting direct import on TopTaggers/CollaborativeRank, then you can expect a lot of your bookmarks to show up as liked. Note that anyone could log into your demo account and make changes. Moreover, these demo accounts may be reset or removed. So if you would like to use this service on a regular basis, please register and import your bookmarks. Other notes: * Targeted Links: These links have been targeted to you by their submitters based on your likes/dislikes of their targeting links. * Targeting Links: These are targeting links that - depending on whether you like them or not - may result in targeted links. * you can click on "why was I targeted" to get an explanation in terms of your preferences on targeting links for why you were targeted to receive a particular link Whenever you have no targeted links, try specifying your likes and dislikes for the targeting links. Doing so, may result in links being targeted to you. Also, * when submitting a link, don't forget to target it; when targeting it using targeting rules, don't forget to specify how the targeting scoring should be done (e.g., by clicking "target liked, avoid disliked, etc.) * also, don't forget to check your targeting links often to see how well they are working; you can make changes as often as you like to your targeting rules Amir > As mentioned in a previous email, Target Your News is a social news > site with a twist: it is the submitter of a URL who is responsible > for recommending it to those people who are likely to be interested. > > See a description here: > http://groups.google.com/group/TargetYourNews/browse_thread/thread/756821b6c813835f > > Although it takes more work to submit news than > del.icio.us/digg/reddit/slashdot, you might want to use this if you > would like more control over the propagation of your news.
