Requests for importing from Powermarks crop up on the Delicous list
every now and then. Allow me to make yet another heartfelt plea:

Powermarks is a Windows rich-client keyword-based bookmark manager.
The interface is similar to John Vey's Delicious Director. I have
6000+ bookmarks in it that I'd like to import into Delicious,
retaining my keywords.

The Powermarks bookmarks file is an HTML file, based on the Netscape
bookmark file format. An individual entry looks like this:

<DT><A
HREF="" href="http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200605/ajax_javascript_support_and_screen_reader_accessibility/">http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200605/ajax_javascript_support_and_screen_reader_accessibility/">AJAX,
_javascript_ support and screen reader accessibility | 456 Berea Street</A>
<DD><!--keywords-->AJAX _javascript_ screen reader accessibility
456bereastreet
<!--notes-->notes
<!--desc-->description
<!--mdata=[Weekly][446DDD2E][446DDD25][446DFDEB][446DFDEB][446DFDEB][0][1][1][EDDDD4F7][1][A][][][0]-->
<BR>

The keywords are in the <DD> element preceded by <!--keywords-->, and
it's critical that I retain them. Also in the <DD>, <!--desc--> and
<!--notes--> are Description and Notes respectively, which I rarely
use, but it'd also be nice if they're retained. The <!--mdata -->
comments are metadata like dates for Added, Modified, Visited,
Checked, status check frequency, and the 4th from last [0] is rating
out of 10 in hex format -- which is also very important to me. (Add
date is also important for sentimental reasons.)

I've done a test import of 10 or so bookmarks already, and it failed.
But I suspect it's hopeless, since the Delicious importer won't be
looking for a keywords field.

How likely is a Powermarks importer in the future? Can anyone help, or
have any suggestions? Kaylon (makers of Powermarks) seem not to be
maintaining it anymore, and do not respond to any queries.

Thanks,

francois
