Hi Joshua, for example, as of posting this email check http://del.icio.us/cudir14 The count for number of favourites is given as 37 but there are 39 there. I refreshed but the count given remained the same. This is using Firefox 2.+ Other examples: http://del.icio.us/niwel74 has a count of 28 but has actually saved 30 items, http://del.icio.us/dajar69 has a count of 30 but has saved 38.
Next check the url for Grimcrack'd - http://del.icio.us/url/90f8f7202db79adbc9c3f39d0b0d98ff If you look at cudir14 it was saved on Feb 26th by that user. If you look at the url, it does not show cudir14 as someone who saved it. In total, around 25 people from my project saved it during Feb/March but only one shows up on the url. By the way, if you're interested in knowing more about the project and how we're using del.icio.us at De Montfort University, it would be great to talk off-list.
