I'm going to mention Dar (http://dar.linux.free.fr/) since it does
incremental backups, can burn right to disk with cdrtools, can restore
specific files or directories, and has a KDE front-end. However, it's
likely not "supported", and for me personally, it's ability to recover
an entire filesystem is untested.
What kind of machine are you running (server / desktop?) and what kind
of backup you want (automatic / manual, and network / burn to optical /
file recovery?) Amanda or rsnapshot would be good solutions for
automatic server backups, but I would rather do backups manually on my
desktop (and a GUI is always nice.) I'm using Dar on my server via SSH,
but that's because I can tell it to ignore the directory that the
backups are in, and also due to firewall restrictions, with makes a
network backup impossible. I then download the backups to another
machine as a FTP client.
I'm also a bit lost at the term of "supported." Do you want something
that is sanctioned by TerraSoft Solutions? I don't think they have
chosen anything. Does it need to come packaged with YDL? I don't think
that any of the mentioned software is available from a YDL mirror.
This reminds me, I should run a backup again...

Does a backup solution exist for Yellow Dog that is reliable. Please
don't mention BRU (unreliable), Atempo (not supported), Netvault (not
supported), or other non-supported backup solutions.
I've heard backula is good, but it is open source and for guaranteed
disaster recovery I just find it hard to put faith in it (the motto is
"it comes by night and sucks the vital essence from your computers",
ummm doesn't sound too safe :) Joking aside, anybody with good
experiences with recovering a backup when your RAID goes or something?
I'm guessing most people running YDL run their backups from a separate
dedicated box with a more common os/architecture (x86 with Linux or
Windows).
