This is in response to how to install a skin for mplayer. There is a good
thread on this, read down near the bottom, about installing a skin on mplayer,
which then becomes gmplayer.

David,

Can you get command-line ftp to work? I don't quite understand why
the web browser would work but not ftp. Did you do a standard
installation? Once I got my RJ-45 connector problem sorted out,
networking was a breeze. Are you using DHCP?

Good luck.

David et al,

I'm definitely interested in your experiences installing and using
the Cell SDK. This was the reason I bought the PS3 to begin with,
and once I manage to tear myself away from MotorStorm (and now Ridge
Racer -- it seems that I did not predict what allure the games would
have to me, who hasn't been into video games really since his old
Amiga in 1990), I want to check this out. I'm moving this weekend,
and the high-speed internet will be installed on Sunday, and the Cell
does have an allure that is completely different than the games :-)

Regards,

John

Has anyone found good luck using yum? What repositories do you use?

I am new to the lists so even responding to messages
is new to me. As in, I am not exactly sure how to do
it. Anyways, I was wondering if someone knew really
quick how to add a skin, since I really don't want to
have to always use the terminal to run MPlayer. I have
seen the documenation, but it is a little confusing to
me. I have downloaded and extracted a skin I like, but
I don't know how to add it. Do I place it in the right
folder, and then re ./configure and install? Also, is
there a way to add it to the "taskbar" so that I can
select in from Enlightenment, like the original
MPlayer is selectable? Thanks for any help guys.

Michael

I subscribe to YDL.net, and they're working beautifully.

Jump onto the Downloads and fine the repositories text file that describes
what needs to be done.

If needed, I can point you to where to find it.
