Hi, installing fonts without much handwork can be done using "Kcontrol" as root (this is the KDE control panel wich allows you to set up 3.5+e9 diffrent things. The font installer hides in the last menu tray from the top (can't give you the proper englisch name) - I am sure you will find it! The tool allows you to install all diffrent types of fonts such as true type fonts etc. Just make sure you place the fonts in the corect sub directry.
