I am running YDL 3.0.1 on an iMac Strawb/233/64, and a PBG3/233/160. I 
am also having problems with ethernet, but ssh and ftp to my iMac DV SE 
(running 9.2/10.3.9, and as soon as I get my CD burner working YDL 4). 
I was having problems installing YDL 3.0 on the DV SE(it ran all night 
and got 6% finished, where as my iMac 233 took like 4 hours and my PB 
took abt 45 min). Is this abnormal (it was a full install the first 
time, workstation custom the second time, and normal workstation the 
third time)? if not, do you think that upgrading to YDL 4.0.1 would 
solve it?

\I have 4.0.1 installed on an imac g3 500 and it works great. A lot of 
things that don't work just need tweaking. As far as sound goes, I am 
using the OSS sound and all sound works perfectly. Permissions and root 
work fine for me, but go with ubuntu if you like.
Just wanted you to know that someone else is running it on a g3 and 
works great. The only problems I have is that KDE and sometimes gnome 
are choppy, but hey, I don't like them anyway :)
