YDL is unique in that it is the superior version of Linux running on PowerPC systems. Of course, the Mac used to run on PowerPC systems -- in the past, when this was true YDL would run nearly on any Mac.
What has changed is Apple's choice to switch to Intel. YDL still runs on PowerPC based systems, which includes the Cell. Intel is well, Intel. There are lots of versions of Linux which run on Intel. If you believe that you've surpassed what the Terminal and Darwin can do for you and you aren't willing to put up with paying for Server quality software components -- which are included for free within any Linux distribution regardless whether Linux is running on a PowerPC or Intel system -- you may begin to understand why more people rather deal with Linux. Best of Luck... Derick _______________________________________________ yellowdog-newbie mailing list [email protected] http://lists.terrasoftsolutions.com/mailman/listinfo/yellowdog-newbie
