I'm guessing this is entirely a terminal problem: some display the cursor
by just
setting the background color. (I think it is the case on OSX). Maybe there
is a way
to go around this but I'd urge you to check the documentation of your
terminal
emulator or use a different one. (I think gnome-terminal is ok in this
respect)
